Day 28. Cricklade Wilts. Thursday 22 May 2003. Heathrow Journey
Today Ian, Pat and I took Gillian and Anthony to Heathrow for their journey home to NZ. We were all a little subdued on the way to the airport.
We countied Eddie Stobart lorries for a while but the enthusiasm wasn't there... it is said that whatever motorway you are driving you will always see one of Eddie Stobart's 950 trucks. He even has his own website and fan club!
Arriving at Heathrow we put Anthony and Gillian's bags through and then we had an airport meal together and chatted.
The time came for Gillian and Anthony to say goodbye to us. I embraced Anthony and then hugged Gillian, as I kissed her goodbye I tasted the tear as it rolled down her wet cheek. She did not want to go yet and at that moment I felt so sorry for her and wished that I could change places with her so that she could see more of Britain with its so rich heritage. Earlier I had asked Gillian what she enjoyed most and she said Edinburgh Castle and the old world of England.
Waving them goodbye we turned and made our way back to the car and we returned to Cricklade.
That evening I had tummy rumbles and when I mentioned it to Pat and she said she had too. We two were the only ones to have pineapple topped pizza at Heathrow.
