Day 24. Cricklade Wilts. Sunday 18 May 2003. Unfortunately still Sick
I awoke this morning from a deep all night sleep, my face was wet and the pillowslip soaking from the discharge from my nose. I took 2 Paracetamol tablets hoping it would deaden the itch in my nose and the sneezing, in a while I found it had helped greatly.
At lunchtime I dragged myself out for a long walk and went completely round the water meadow and up and around the nearby housing estate not far from the Priory. I just got back before the heavy rain showers came. I made a mental note to tell Vicky and Ian that the gutter was overflowing... apparently they were aware of the situation I learnt later.
In the afternoon I started to sneeze again. I should have taken more Paracetamol tablets but I didn't. My thought was to conserve them, they were available only on prescription. I may need them again. The little pink ones, they were stronger still, I had the same thought in mind for them too.
Vicky arrived home at just turned 8 p.m. full of news. It was good to think of something else other than my immediate problem. She had lost a muffler clip on the M4 motorway on the way to Usk and the AA came and made a temporary repair. The M4 traffic was thick on the way down with the Cup Final traffic. Many, many buses as well as cars. I was glad to hear her mother Doreen is recovering from a leg operation, was progressing well and due out of hospital on Tuesday. A get well card had arrived from Gillian.
A Paris phone call came in, it was Ian then Pat from a Greek restaurant in the Latin Quarter. The background noise was loud and everyone seemed to be letting their hair down. It was good to hear from them.
