Day 22. Cricklade Wilts. Friday 16 May 2003. Family to Paris
This morning I had my Doctor's appointment at 11 a.m. and it was a very wet day. I donned on some of Ian's wet weather gear and headed up the street. Arriving at Surgery reception I handed over the required ?30.00 fee. The receptionist looked a little perplexed at the notes, they were Bank of Scotland currency and I told her I had just returned from Scotland, she relaxed a little.
The lady Doctor was very pleasent and efficient. Some of the medication was not available in the UK but she soon found the equivalents. She then examined me, wrote out the prescription for 84 days and sent me on my way. The consultation had taken half an hour.
Donning on my wet wether gear again I headed across the road to the Chemist's shop. She recognized me from yesterday and took theproffered perscription into the rear. Time passed and she came through and asked me "did I realize the cost of the medication? and I said "yes, I knew it would be expensive". She said in hushed tone "its ?214.60" I said "thats fine, my comprehensive insurance will take care of it", she relaxed and went out to the rear and brought me back the package and actioned my Visa.
Vicky arrived home from school and after dinner she was occupied with her class marking and preparing for her promised Usk trip in the morning, which was Saturday.
