Day 21. Cricklade Wilts. Thursday 15th May 2003. The Lost Medication

A days rest has done me good. Today I thought I had better do something about my lost tablets, my emergency supply will soon run short. I decided to first check at the Chemist and see the lay of the land. What was the procedure in the UK for lost medication?

The lady Chemist was quite helpful and she explained the procedure and had a look at my list of 6 items of medication. I needed to consult a Doctor first she told me who would prescribe the medication items or their equivalents.

I went down to the combined Doctor's practise where I explained my situation as an overseas visitor and made an appointment for 11 a.m. for tomorrow, Friday and I was informed I would need to pay the sum of ?30.00 for the consultation on arrival.

I had first noticed the missing medication when we were in Kendal, staying at Mrs. Knowles B & B, how it had gone astray I had no idea and could only make guesses. I have always kept a months supply in reserve in case of problems and as we were travelling with short stays only the emergency supply came to the fore to last me until I arrived back in Cricklade.

Well that was it for the day nothing at all exiting. Tomorrow afternoon Pat along with Ian, Anthony and Gillian were heading off to Paris for a few days leaving me behind at Cricklade. This had all been by prior arrangement. After a busy spell I knew I would be very tired and a drag on my family, my damaged heart takes a while to help my body to recover. The only way is for me to take things slowly for a few days.
