Day 17. Scotland. Sunday 11 May 2003. Discover Edinburgh
I woke up this morning, staggered out of bed and then crawled back in to bed. I felt awful, I'm not well. I feel very lethargic, a violent headache in the back of my head and my shoulders and arms feel like lead weights. I felt bloated and couldn't have faced breakfast even if I could have got up out of bed. I stayed in bed until 11 a.m., everyone was concerned. More about this problem later when it manifested itself after a few days.
After a shower and a cup of tea I felt a little better but very weak. In the meantime the plumber arrived to look at the banging pipes problem and did a few things. He said they would be probably alright now. The cleaner arrived as well, a thin older women who found going up and down stairs a pain, we christened her "old Maggie"... don't know why, she looked like an "old Maggie". She and the plumber knew each other and talked in broad Scots, I could only catch 2 words out of 3. All the time I lay in my sickbed.
Anthony, Gillian and Ian, I chased them off to see the sights of Edinburgh and tried to do so with Pat but I could not shift her, she elected to stay with me.
We stayed in Ian and Anthony's large room for the rest of the day which was more comfortable than our room with chairs and side table and an outlook to the interesting street front.
Gillian, Anthony and Ian returned after their exploration of Edinburgh to say that they had booked an evening trip to explore the catacombs beneath Edinburgh. We all went including me still feeling queesy to a nearby Chinese reasturant where I had a thin delicsous soup with all kinds of bit in it. I then had a few mouthfuls of the main courses, I couldn't take more.
On return to our B &B I went to bed early, Gillian, Ian and Anthony went out on their spooky tour.
Yes, the pipes did bang again during the night but not as bad as the previous night, but more of that tomorrow.
