Day 12. Kendal. Tuesday 6 May 2003. Arrival Day
We left Oswaldtwistle at 11 a.m. after digging Pete out of bed first to blow up a suspected low tire on the hire car and arrived in Kendal at 12.15 p.m., a quick trip. Gillian drove and I navigated out of Oswaldtwistle. Gillian drove well on the motorway.
We had lunch at Morrison's, Pat and Gillian dived down the shopping aisles and Anthony too for a while. I sat on the wooden seat by the supermarket entrance and soon Anthony joined me.
We rang Kathie and Verd and said we would call at 5 p.m. We left for our booked B & B but got lost so we returned to the Station Hotel point and rang for directions. Following the directions we saw our old B & B in the valley bottom and breathed a sigh of relief. It was Myer's Farm but we found it was no longer a B & B. Peter and Ann Knowles had retired to live in Kendal. Ann, the cook of perfect fried eggs unfortunately had cancer. We were mystified, where then was our B & B? It turned out we should have been up another nearby side road at Peter and Olive Knowles, at Crag Farm.
