Pets
OldEric says :-) Well we went into Hamilton last Wednesday and called in at the Longtail Pet Motel just before Te Rapa Dairy Factory to preview accommodation for Biggles for a month during our UK trip until Tony comes home and picks him up. Rusty and Biggles have stayed here before when young cats which is quite a few years ago. Still the same owners and still a good high standard.
We will leave Rusty at home and John and Jim will feed him, he’s an outdoor cat and happiest in his own environment. Biggles has diabetes and needs daily medication, which the Kennel people will administer.
We were shown around everything was clean and tidy and the manageress was very helpful and introduced us to various cats and some dogs in a separate area.
We were told an interesting tale of two of the inhabitants a dog and a cat who have been boarding at the kennels for three and a half years. They belong to a doctor and his wife who move around a lot to places often with unsuitable permanent accommodation for pets. They come pick them up take them home and for a holiday every three months. The dog always knows when they are coming; long before the kennel people know he gets exited and starts barking as the car turns up the lane from the noisy busy main road, which is quite a way from the house. He recognises the engine.
Funny our cats do too long before we can hear the engine noise of our car.
